Sarajevo, 31 March 2025
Application deadline: 21 April 2025
The WARM Festival 2025 will take place in Sarajevo from July 7 to 12, 2025. We are looking for strong, original, and relevant projects addressing contemporary conflict that will be presented during the festival. These can be journalistic, artistic, academic, or other creative works that engage with war, human rights, or post-conflict realities.
We welcome a wide range of formats and approaches, including:
· Finished or unfinished works (films, photo series, books, performances, theater pieces, multimedia installations, exhibitions, live music, audio storytelling, TV and online content, etc.)
· Works-in-progress presented as talks, installations, or previews, with the possibility of further development within the WARM network
· Proposals for public events, workshops, lectures, and discussions
· Experimental or hybrid formats that push boundaries in form or perspective
Among the submitted projects, priority will be given to those with strong potential to be adapted into a short-format video (6–10 minutes) for our new WARM In Focus program, which features compelling journalistic or artistic perspectives on current or recent conflicts. These videos will be showcased at the WARM Festival — on the big screen, during our WARM movie nights and premieres — and through our global partner network.
All proposals should reflect the core values of the WARM Foundation: telling the story with excellence and integrity. We are committed to amplifying powerful, underrepresented voices and contributing to a deeper understanding of today’s conflicts. While the festival often focuses on major, well-documented conflicts, we actively welcome and support underrepresented projects, stories, individuals, and organizations addressing lesser-known or overlooked contemporary struggles.
To apply, please send us:
· A short description of your project (up to 500 words)
· A short bio
· Links or samples of work, if available
Deadline for submissions: April 21, 2025
Notification of selected participants: May 1, 2025

The WARM Festival is not a marketplace. It is a space for truth, integrity, and bold storytelling. All selected participants become part of the wider WARM community and its global network of conflict reporters, researchers, artists, and other authors exploring the impact of war on societies and the world at large.
