The War Zone Drawings by Ghaith Abdul Ahad – Exhibition and Book Presentation
On July 12, 2023 at 18:00, WARM Festival hosted The War Zone Drawings, an exhibition of drawings by Iraqi journalist and writer Ghaith Abdul Ahad, at Smoje Galerija in Sarajevo.
Alongside the exhibition, Abdul Ahad presented his new book, A Stranger in Your Own City, a powerful personal account of decades of conflict and survival in Iraq. The event was moderated by Boro Kontić and organized in partnership with Mediacentar Sarajevo.
The evening offered a rare opportunity to encounter Abdul Ahad’s visual and literary work together, opening a conversation about memory, violence, and the role of storytelling in times of war.
