WARM and Visual Factory announce Sarajevo Masterclass 2026
WARM Foundation is partnering with Visual Factory on a new masterclass in Sarajevo, developed as a focused, five-day program in the lead-up to the WARM Festival 2026.
The masterclass is built around the ethical and narrative questions that define contemporary photojournalism, with particular attention to conflict and humanitarian contexts. Through a combination of lectures, editing sessions and group discussions, participants will work on their own projects while engaging with different approaches to storytelling, authorship and responsibility.
The program is led by photographers Manu Brabo, Fabio Bucciarelli, Diego Ibarra Sánchez and Bülent Kılıç, whose work spans long-term documentary practice and conflict reporting across multiple regions. Their mentorship is structured around the full process of developing a project, from the initial idea through fieldwork to editing, sequencing and presentation.
Over the course of the program, participants will work closely with the mentors on refining their projects, with a strong emphasis on clarity, structure and the construction of a coherent body of work.
This collaboration reflects WARM’s ongoing approach of linking education, production and presentation within the same framework. Sarajevo, as both a city shaped by conflict and a place where these questions are continuously examined, provides an essential context for the program.
The final day of the masterclass takes place within the WARM Festival itself, offering participants direct access to exhibitions, screenings and discussions, and insight into how work moves from development into a wider public context.
Participants are encouraged to remain in Sarajevo for the duration of the festival (July 6–12), where they can engage with additional programs and connect with authors, editors and practitioners from around the world.
The Sarajevo Masterclass 2026 is organized by Visual Factory in collaboration with WARM Foundation.
