THE SNIPER ARTISTS EXPLORES THE POWER OF SATIRE IN TIMES OF WAR

WARM Festival 2026 presented The Sniper Artists, a documentary by Didier Martiny and Jean-François Berger about political cartoonists working in places where drawing can be as dangerous as reporting.

The screening at Kino Meeting Point was followed by a discussion with Chappatte, Didier Martiny and Jean-François Berger, moderated by Ahmed Burić. The conversation focused on political cartooning, satire and freedom of expression in times of conflict, with the filmmakers and Chappatte reflecting on the role cartoons continue to play in challenging propaganda, censorship and those in power.
