UPRISINGS continues at the Mémorial de Caen

The conversation around WARM’s UPRISINGS:GLOBAL project continued beyond the exhibition in Bayeux with a special Les Passeurs event at the Mémorial de Caen on 13 October, organised in partnership with WARM and the Prix Bayeux Calvados-Normandie des correspondants de guerre.

The discussion brought together Rémy Ourdan, Cécile Hennion, Thomas Dworzak, Emeric Lhuisset and Adrien Jaulmes, authors whose work and experience span different conflicts, revolutions and protest movements around the world.

From the revolutions of the past to protests unfolding today, the conversation looked at what remains familiar and what has fundamentally changed: the role of photography and visual symbols, movements without clear leaders, digital networks, surveillance, citizen journalism, anonymity, and the extraordinary speed at which images, ideas and tactics now cross borders.

The event was another step in the collaboration between WARM, the Mémorial de Caen and the Prix Bayeux, extending the questions raised by UPRISINGS into a public conversation about images, protest, witnessing and participation.

UPRISINGS:GLOBAL, a multimedia exhibition produced by WARM, remains on view at Le Bâtiment, Place de la Liberté in Bayeux, until 8 November 2026.
