WARM FESTIVAL (28 June – 4 July)

The 2015 WARM Festival is taking place in Sarajevo from Sunday June 28th to Saturday July 4th, 2015.

The Festival is bringing together artists, writers, filmmakers, journalists, photographers, historians, researchers, and activists working on the world’s contemporary conflicts. The festival will present exhibitions, film screenings, book signings, conferences and discussions, and various activities related to conflict.

The Second WARM Festival will have the European premiere of Sebastian Junger last film,’The Last Patrol’, the story of a journey on foot through America by two combat veterans and two longtime war reporters. The festival will also screen Junger’s two films about American soldiers fighting the war in Afghanistan, ‘Restrepo’ and ‘Korengal’, as well as ‘Which way is the front line from here?’. The American journalist will also present his recent book, ‘War’.
The WARM Festival will also screen as a world premiere Florent Marcie film ‘Commander Khawani’, which was filmed in Afghanistan for fifteen years.
‘The E-Team’ film will also be screened, as well as other films on the leading world organization for the protection of human rights, Human Rights Watch.
Among the exhibitions that WARM Festival audience will have the opportunity to see,‘Discordia’ of Moises Saman will present the story of the Arab Spring through documentary photography.
The exhibition ‘The Forensic Turn’, curated by Paul Lowe, will in a different but powerful way presents the crimes around the world, with the work of photographers such as Edmund Clark, Ziyah Gafic, Ashley Gilbertson, Shannon Jensen, Simon Norfolk and Fred Ramos.
Marcus Bleasdale exhibition talks about the terror in the Central African Republic (CAR). Bleasdale is a documentary photographer who uses his work to influence decision makers around the world, and was working in CAR with Human Rights Watch.
The exhibition ‘Maydan-hundred portraits’, of the French artist Emeric Lhuisset, will present the demonstrators from the Maydan Square in Kiev, who responded to two questions – what would you like to see happening now? and what do you think will happen?

The full program of the WARM Festival will be presented soon at a press conference in Sarajevo.
