Our Paths to Damascus, a project developed and produced by the WARM Foundation together with the Bayeux Calvados–Normandy Award for War Correspondents, will open on December 9 at 5:00 PM at the National Library in Damascus. The exhibition is presented by Malmah Project and Dar Ebla Photographic Space, in cooperation with the Syrian Ministry of Culture and the Syrian campaign supporting the opening. It will run until December 14.
The exhibition brings together the work of Syrian photographers and artists who returned to their cities and towns after December 8, 2024, when the fall of the Assad regime reopened Syria to journalists and photographers, both Syrian and foreign, who had been displaced for years. The exhibition was curated by WARM members Abdulmonam Eassa and Ghaith Abdul-Ahad.
The project also honors Anas al-Kharboutli and Mustafa al-Sarout, photographers who were killed on the road to Damascus during the liberation battles.
“Our Paths to Damascus” was originally created for the WARM Festival in Sarajevo and later shown at the Bayeux Festival. Its presentation in Damascus marks another step in the life of a project initiated by WARM, now continuing to travel and expand beyond its original context.
