WARM ACADEMY 2024 OPEN CALL

“For me personally, this was a very big and important week – it enabled the connections I didn’t think were possible. As a learning scientist and a facilitator with 10 years of experience, it is very rare that I have little constructive feedback when it comes to the overall learning journey. I thought that the week was well-balanced, the schedule was exactly right: not too packed, but I still felt that my time was used to the maximum capacity; the film screenings and community events were a wonderful and key addition that enabled me to feel anchored in the city. This entire week was magic that you brought to life, please remember and celebrate that”, Valeriya, Ukraine (WARM Academy 2023)

The WARM Academy is a multidisciplinary educational program designed to explore and showcase cutting-edge approaches, innovative techniques, and best practices used worldwide in addressing issues related to contemporary conflict and post-conflict transitions. Hosted alongside the WARM Festival in Sarajevo from July 813, 2024, the 6th edition of Academy will focus on ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, among others. It will also delve into the critical role of reporters, artists, and academics during times of crisis. The program will feature award-winning authors, globally renowned experts, as well as individuals bringing firsthand experience and knowledge from conflict zones.

We warmly welcome applications from students, researchers, artists, photographers, filmmakers, academics, journalists, and individuals interested in conflict transformation, peacebuilding, human rights, transitional justice, and related fields to participate in the WARM Academy.

Participants are advised to arrive in Sarajevo by July 7th to ensure a smooth start. Full participation is expected from each participant throughout the project week, and we kindly ask applicants to consider this before applying.  Participation in the WARM Academy is free of charge, but spots are limited to 30 participants.

Accommodation and travel costs may be covered for participants from European Union, EFTA countries, European Union candidate countries, European Union potential candidate countries, and European Neighborhood Policy – ENP countries (South and East). If you are not from one of these countries, please contact us.

The deadline for applications is June 10th, 2024. The application form can be accessed via the following link:
