WARM Foundation and Magnum Photos are excited to unveil a new partnership that will provide eight scholarships for photographers interested in documentary photography. Open to individuals of all nationalities and ages, this initiative aims to support emerging talent and promote diversity within the photography community.
Two scholarships will be awarded directly by WARM, while six will be selected through a joint open call by WARM and Magnum Photos. The selection process will focus on photographers who demonstrate a strong ability to tell stories through their work and a clear ambition to pursue a career in photography. Applicants should explain how this opportunity will contribute to their personal and professional growth.
The program encourages applications from underrepresented groups, including women (female-identifying), individuals from lower socio-economic backgrounds, LGBTQIA+, and ethnic minority communities. With no formal educational qualifications required, the scholarships are open to a wide range of talents.
As part of this initiative, Magnum’s Inside>>Out program will bring four acclaimed photographers—Susan Meiselas, Jérôme Sessini, Nanna Heitmann, and Olivia Arthur—to Sarajevo from May 11-16, 2025. During this week-long workshop, participants will work closely with mentors, attend lectures, and connect with peers and professionals, enhancing their practice and broadening their perspectives.
This collaboration highlights the shared commitment of WARM and Magnum Photos to advancing the art and practice of documentary photography. Applications are now open. Click here to apply.
