Born in 1974, Guillaume Lavit d’Hautefort lives and works in Paris. After his studies in architecture, he turned to photography after a first commission for the film industry. He instinctivelt explores singular themes : border, uprooting, renaissance, state of war or post-war, recent revolutions, the interstices of History. He is particularly interested in heated but offbeat political events that reveal History in a different light. The passage of time that is stretched, stigmata of a world in which in our time violence is taking on new forms : displaced, refugee populations on the move, temporarily settled in often deserted landscapes where people seeking freedom take refugee.
