Jon Swain

Journalist

Jon Swain has worked as a foreign correspondent in trouble-spots across the globe, first for Agence France Presse and then for The Sunday Times of London. He was one of the few western journalists to stay behind in Phnom Penh and witness the capture of the city by the Khmer Rouge and its horrific aftermath, a story told in the Oscar-winning film The Killing Fields. He is the author of River of Time, a best-selling memoir of his years covering the wars in Vietnam and Cambodia.
