Karim Shah

Filmmaker

Karim is a London based filmmaker. He’s worked in over 30 countries, producing investigative and observational documentaries broadcast on Channel 4, ITV, PBS Frontline, Al Jazeera English and the BBC.  

His work has covered subjects like militancy in Pakistan and Afghanistan, investigating war crimes in South Sudan and Ukraine, the arms trade in Mexico and the US, political upheaval in Egypt, and the occupation of Palestine.   

Karim’s camera work has been recognised by an Emmy, for the PBS Frontline (2020) film ‘Taliban Country’.   

He directed ‘No Country for Women’ for ITV / PBS Frontline (2023). The film won an Emmy, a Columbia Dupont, a Grierson, a Rose d’Or Award and an Overseas Press Club of America Award. 

More recently, Karim directed Gaza: Doctors Under Attack, a forensic investigation into Israel’s targeted attacks on Gaza’s healthcare system and Palestinian doctors.
