Raúl’s career has taken him to war zones, natural disaster sites, scenes of social unrest, and inspiring, character-driven narratives around the world. He has collaborated with leading media organizations, including TVE, TV3, The Associated Press Television News, and Channel 4 News UK. As an independent journalist, his contributions have appeared in outlets such as The Washington Post, The Intercept, and the South China Morning Post.
Raúl directed and produced Point of No Return, a 20-minute documentary series, and Fly on the Wall, an award-winning 15-minute documentary series for Al Jazeera Digital English. His recent long-form documentary work includes Cockroach, which covers the 2019 Hong Kong protests, where he served as DOP, producer, cinematographer, and co-editor. Directed by Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, the film has received significant acclaim.
Raúl is also the director and producer of the award-winning documentary Pani: Women, Drugs, and Kathmandu and has collaborated with the Global Wildlife Program to create films addressing wildlife conservation, sustainable development, and the fight against wildlife trafficking.
