The project consists of photographs produced on active frontlines of the war in Ukraine, a high-intensity conflict fought primarily by soldiers along shifting trench systems, artillery positions and destroyed urban areas. The contributing photographers worked in close proximity to combat units, documenting military operations, frontline conditions and the material consequences of sustained fighting.

The images are the result of direct access to combat zones and extended time spent on the ground.

First presented as a slideshow at WARM Festival 2023 in Sarajevo, the project was later shown as a full exhibition at the Bayeux Calvados-Normandy Award for War Correspondents.
