UPRISINGS opens in Bayeux

UPRISINGS:GLOBAL, a multimedia exhibition by WARM, opened in Bayeux during the 33rd Prix Bayeux Calvados-Normandie des correspondants de guerre, attracting strong public interest from its first days and bringing together many of the photographers, writers, editors and friends whose work and ideas made the exhibition possible.

Developed by WARM in partnership with the Prix Bayeux, the exhibition looks at uprisings across different countries and generations, and at the changing relationship between protest, photography and the circulation of images. From Iran and Myanmar to Ukraine, Hong Kong, Chile, Serbia, Nepal, Thailand and beyond, it brings together photography, texts, archives and other visual material contributed by WARM members and friends.

At the official opening, Alice Gabriner, Carol Isoux and Jon Lee Anderson spoke about the project and the ideas behind it, alongside several of the exhibition’s authors and contributors. Arnaud Tanquerel, Mayor of Bayeux, also addressed the audience, marking another chapter in the long collaboration between WARM and the Prix Bayeux.

UPRISINGS is, above all, a product of the WARM network: photographers, reporters, writers, editors and friends sharing their work, archives, ideas, knowledge and trust to make something together.

Following a very well attended opening and first days, UPRISINGS remains open at Le Bâtiment in Bayeux until 8 November 2026.
