Roger Mayou

Director, International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum

Roger Mayou was born in 1954 in Geneva. After studying History of art, German and Linguistics in Geneva and Munich, he obtained a Master of Arts in Geneva. He was a museum curator and artistic advisor of a major bank. In 1998, he took over the direction of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum in Geneva which he led the expansion and transformation. The new permanent exhibition The Humanitarian Adventure, inaugurated in 2013, received the Kenneth Hudson Award 2015. Recently, he was co-curator of the exhibition All too human. 20th and 21st century artists and suffering. He is also a member of the Strategic Board of the University of Geneva.
