I’m a Palestinian photographer born in Kuwait. After completing a degree in sociology at the Lebanese University, I began my photography career in 1999 covering news for the Associated Press in Lebanon. I later worked as a photo editor and photographer for Agence France-Presse (AFP) at its Middle East hub in its Cyprus and Paris headquarters. My nine-year wire service experience included covering hard news in conflicts such as the war in Iraq and the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war, where my work was widely published. Since 2008 I have been working on long-term projects and story-telling with a special focus on women and education.
