“Reconciliation, justice, remembrance: what postwar era do we want?”
Friday 1 October from 2.30pm to 4 pm
WARM round table
Rémy Ourdan, journalist and war correspondent, Le Monde
Thierry Cruvellier, editor in chief for Justice Info
Ed Vulliamy, British journalist and writer
How do we ensure justice is served after an armed conflict? How do we sustain the memory of war? How do we reconcile peoples and nations? Guest speakers from the WARM Foundation will give their thoughts on justice and impunity, on remembrance and ignorance, and on the paths to reconciliation, reflecting on the aftermath of numerous recent conflicts, from the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda to the two decades that followed the 9/11 attacks. After the guns fall silent, what should the post-war period look like and what kind of society do we want?
