Cécile Hennion

Cécile Hennion is a French reporter covering the Middle East since 1997. She started in Egypt as a freelance, then covered the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (second Intifada) for Jeune Afrique. Working for Le Monde since 2004, she covered the Iraq war, the 2006 Israeli-Lebanese war, the Egyptian revolution and the war in Libya. She has been Le Monde correspondent for the Middle East, based in Beirut. She is the author of Ya Benti, ma fille (2005), a reporter’s journey through the Arab world, and of Le fil de nos vies brisées (2019), a book on the war in Aleppo, Syria.
